How to unistall Sun Java from Microsoft Windows

Step1: Click Start

Step2: Select Settings

Step3: Select Control Panel

Step4: Double click the Add/Remove Programs control panel icon

Step5: The Add/Remove control panel displays a list of software on your system, including any Java software products that are on your computer. Select any that you want to uninstall by clicking on it, and then click the Remove button.

Note:

If the normal uninstallation process (as mentioned above) fails, then please try Microsoft Windows Installer Cleanup Utility. This tool will ensure that all irrelevant Java Runtime Environment Microsoft Installer (msi) registries are removed. Removal instructions:

Step1: Download the Microsoft Installer Clean Up utility file and save it on your desktop
Step2: Double click on executable file. The installation process will start. Follow the instructions accordingly
Step3: Once installation process is over, go to Start -> All Programs -> Run Windows Install Clean Up utility
Step4: This will launch the Windows Installer Clean Up utility dialog box
Step5: Under the Installed products list, select the desired Java version that you want to remove
Step: Click Remove and Exit

How to Uninstall Microsoft Java

  1. Click the Start button
  2. Click the Run button
  3. Enter RunDll32 advpack.dll,LaunchINFSection java.inf,UnInstall and press the <RETURN>
  4. Click Yes
  5. Let the process reboot your machine
  6. Click the Start button
  7. Click the Run button
  8. Enter cmd and press <RETURN> to open a command shell
  9. Enter the command rd /s %System_Root%\java
  10. Enter the command del %System_Root%\inf\java.pnf
  11. Enter the command del %System_Root%\SYSTEM32\jview.exe
  12. Enter the command del %System_Root%\SYSTEM32\wjview.exe
  13. Click the Start button
  14. Click the Run button
  15. Enter regedit and press <RETURN>
  16. Scroll down to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
  17. Click + to open HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
  18. Scroll down to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE
  19. Click + to open HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE
  20. Scroll down to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft
  21. Click + to open HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft
  22. Scroll down to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Java VM
  23. Click + to open HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Java VM
  24. Highlight Java VM
  25. Press the <DELETE> key
  26. Scroll down to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
  27. Click + to open HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
  28. Scroll down to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE
  29. Click + to open HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE
  30. Scroll down to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft
  31. Click + to open HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft
  32. Scroll down to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Internet Explorer
  33. Click + to open HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Internet Explorer
  34. Scroll down to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\AdvancedOptions
  35. Click + to open HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\AdvancedOptions
  36. Scroll down to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\AdvancedOptions\JAVA_VM
  37. Click + to open HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\AdvancedOptions\JAVA_VM
  38. Highlight Java VM
  39. Press the <DELETE> key
